crysisanz advertising on FTW

Hey guys,
I noticed that someone with the GUID ending in d3662df1 came on the server today as 'www.crysisanz.tk' and telling people to join these forums.

a few things to consider, although not many people were on, are however;

1) have you recieved permission to advertise these free forums on a server that is run by FTW and paid virtually solely for by members of FTW?

2) if you havent, could you please refrain from doing so until you have asked for permission, on the FTW forums, and are given an answer by those representing FTW.

3) if you are considering advertising these forums on the FTW server, without a server of your own, could you please consider donating towards FTW as a means of respect and appreciation for the hard work put into the server by the members of FTW, which seems to be unappreciated at times.

Hey mate, yeah that was me. Sorry if you boy's don't generally allow this type of thing. I thought it was mainly for advertising other servers that you guys don't like, however, you do make a very valid point i should have asked. Though i did get the idea from Gazz though he is not an Admin, anyways here is the quote:

Anyways, i proceeded with Gazz' idea as no one seemed to object, though again i should have been more considerate. I'll have a bit of a talk with some of the admins

As for the donations i finally have Paypal setup and $5 sitting there lol, i'll donate that, not that it will make to much of a difference

thats cool man, i realise Gazz made a suggestion and we arent against the idea of this forum, but as its still in its infancy and the FTW server is based on FTW and how they've maintained it and worked hard on it i thought it seemed more proper that considering be given to FTW forums first on that server, as any feedback about the server should be directed there

also, FTW is not restricted to Australia and New Zealand, more of an Oceanic server open to anyone who doesnt have a ping over 200 and doesnt break the rules (aka be a stain)


so while the FTW guys talk it over just wait a bit n see what the results are.

Yeah i dont want this website to make going to clan websites or server websites unecessary. I am trying to do my best not to have things with this website not conflict with things from other websites, except for where i couldnt such as general discussion forums.

The main purpose of this forum is to have everyone in one place. Also I don't think i will have a server to go with this forum, as i love AusServerFTW and i think that the guys are doing an extremely good job. Also having a server with the website is firstly not feasible as their isn't a large enough community, secondly would drive some people away from clan websites which is not what the purpose of this site is.

I have a section for all the in the Clans Category, all i need is appropriate information for each clan, i have made a post on ftw forums asking for some information as to how the clan was started so that the clans may be advertised properly. I'll have a talk to some of the admins also about advertising, i would also happily advertise your servers on this website.

I might be able to put up some advertisement on a our Tournament servers we have at the moment, linking back to this site.

Yea this is true... well we have one team who has just registered lol, using our Asia server. But next tournament we will definatly include Australia, and if this forum takes off and attracks a decent amount of Aussie community, then this could be used to expand the tournament into australia easier.

why be an idiot and choose a high pinger clan for yourself.

Alot of aussie and nz players do play on US and Euro servers just cos there are more players, they dont care about the ping

yeh mainly the guys who want full servers and mods/free weapons.

I joined the clan I did because I was friends with a few of them. We have a server for us which gives us ping of 160. LOL. Of course its not as smooth as playing at 30 ping, but we've had no complaints on lag. Also I love starting with a scar and laser... it evens the playing field. Everyone starts on even ground, and the map is not controlled by players guarding good weapon points, etc.

Ah, there is TOC: Tournament of Champions, server which gives us 162..ish. And -=DVC=- West, which gives us 160-180.

I like the idea of this forum, mainly because it's new and not filled with older dudes from the day. It's cool starting fresh and I'm sure that there's a few newer players out there that feel more comfortable starting off as a noob on a noob board.

Hopefully we can all be friends, and seeing as though the FTW dudes post here, I think it's all good. Just as long as they dont lay shit into this place, like carts has done in some other threads.
