New Players

Hi around after 9pm i find that i always find a new player playing the game. Today i saw one so i decided i would get his contact details and help him out a bit and give him a quick run down of the game. I was wondering what your guys thoughts were on when seeing a new player. What should we do?

I was thinking the other day, maybe we should have s group of players (a couple from FTW, AoS and {TF} each or so, IF each clan agrees to of course) that are also dedicated to helping and training any new, or regular players that wish for help with their aiming, tactics etc. Offering players for help and/or training might incline new players to join a server more frequently and possibly stay for longer periods of time. But you asked for our thoughts so thats mine

I agree on helping new players out. I have been online a few times with just one other in server and so offered some tip and hints that ive learnt and picked up over time , although most of time they say yes to everything and then not try it >.> but suppose its useful for those who will listen. Also having some well reckonised player helping out will bring back the average new or noobish player .

thats only on our server i believe aussie, i reckon we gotta come up with some new names to replace the current ones.

why not record quick videos for certain parts of the game, ie: capturing, shooting, the weapons, importance of certain buildings, what the buildings do, the suit modes.

Just help them out in game. Tell them too press P to buy weapons, thats the only bit i had troubles with when i first started. CAUSE IT DOSENT FUCKEN TELL YOU ANYWHERE

I find also that there are new players around occaisionally. A couple of people in the last 2 times I've played. Mind you this was after 1 am. I was going to go to bed, but I decided to stick around and talk them through a bit of how to play, if they weren't oening me already. lol.

Showing interest in newbies is a good way to get them to stick around too.

yeh i memba helping out 1 or 2 dudes one time. it was like early in the morning. me and 2other new guys that were friends. they actually managed to get the hang of it and all.


btw video sounds the best idea. c-wars tutorial is a load of shit

i started doing that based on that thread i wrote
fuckin takes alot of planning
then i was gonna do tactics, advanced tactics, weapons lowdowns, etc etc a whole series. hmm
im pretty sure i even said that a dozen times on FTW forums, plus i got the software n know-how to do all kinds of stuff to help newbies out. which i spend a fair bit of time trying to do on AusServer (tis how i get to recognise so many names lol)



i just need to plan out the video format properly, whether i should use an audio dub or words on screen (audio may be best with some words) and plan out how basic should i start.

if anyone wants to give me ideas of where i should start and what to cover just go over the thread i made of 'How to play crysis wars' and ill look at any suggestions, and end up posting them on my youtube account.
